Security is built into every document.
We design Platen PDF with security in mind—from encrypted connections and secure authentication to workflow-specific file retention and cleanup.
Security at a Glance
HTTPS Encryption
All communication is encrypted in transit.
File Retention and Cleanup
Cloud file retention varies by tool. Studio session files and exports can remain after processing; cleanup may be delayed.
Secure Authentication
Protected login and account security controls.
Continuous Protection
Monitoring and infrastructure safeguards.
Protecting your files and account is one of our highest priorities. We continuously improve our security controls and infrastructure to help keep your data safe while delivering a fast document processing experience.
Security Measures
File Handling
Cloud workflows use temporary processing files. Studio sessions can also retain source files, edits and snapshots while the session is active.
Some Studio exports can remain available for up to 24 hours, subject to session expiry. This is a download-access limit, not a physical-deletion deadline.
Cleanup follows each workflow's expiry and removal rules. Deletion failures may be retried, and storage-provider retention restrictions can delay physical deletion. Expired access or scheduled cleanup does not confirm physical erasure; no single deletion deadline applies to all workflows.
Privacy by Design
Processing files, active session assets and downloadable exports have different lifecycles. See our Privacy Policy for file handling and your separate account-data rights.
Security Disclaimer
While we follow industry best practices and continually improve our security controls, no internet service or software platform can guarantee absolute protection against every possible attack, hardware failure, or security incident.
Report a Security Issue
If you discover a security vulnerability, suspect unauthorized access, or notice suspicious behavior, please let us know immediately. Responsible disclosure helps us protect everyone using Platen PDF.
